Geography
Equatorial Guinea is located on the middle-western coast of Africa. The country boarders Cameroon to the north, Gabon to the east and south, and the Gulf of Guinea to the west. Despite the name, the equator doesn't run through any part of Equatorial Guinea, but runs directly south of it. Equatorial Guinea has an area of 28,051 square kilometers, which is 17,430 square miles. This makes it slightly larger than the area of Maryland, which is about 10,400 square miles. Most of the country's land is made up of coastal plains and interior hills, with the 5 inhabited islands being made of volcanic rock.
